On a beautiful, sunny February afternoon, Katie and Brittany said “I do” while standing on the sand at Wrightsville Beach in Wilmington, North Carolina. The beach was empty aside from us and the seagulls and the sounds of the ocean. Katie and Brittany are both fire fighters. They work in a very high risk job and they told me in our initial FaceTime meeting (that lasted well over an hour and also involved all of our dogs talking to each other, too) that they just flat out didn’t want to wait to marry each other. So instead of planning a wedding over a year away and waiting, they wanted to have a very intimate wedding ceremony where they made it official with just their immediate family and closest friends. So not only did I get to be there for this day, but also for a full sized wedding later this year. Which to me is like…… a BONUS WEDDING. And I’m so glad, because these two and their incredible families made me feel like I was there as a guest, and I really just cannot wait until we get to do it all again. This day was absolutely perfect, and of course they took me to Jimmy’s after for a slushee and they had the most calm and casual wedding day. It was perfect! Grateful that I met these two. I’m ready for November!!!!
