Just over a week ago, I got to be a part of an absolutely incredible wedding day. Amber and Alec said their “I do’s” in front of all their closest family and friends at the stunning St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church in Monroe, Michigan. They followed with a reception at Fox Hills Golf & Banquet Center in Plymouth, Michigan. Every detail was carefully thought out, overflowing with baby’s breath and wood centerpieces, with lavender bridesmaid dresses and grey suits for the guys. Amber handmade the bouquets herself using Michigan Flower Farm, and I was so impressed with the results! Their bridal party had me belly laughing as we took photos and drove around like crazy people on golf carts, and Amber and Alec were so comfortable and calm with each other (even during their first look!) that it made our portraits so simple and easy. There are definitely a few perks to dating for over 10 years. One of my favorite parts from the wedding day was during the best man’s speech, when he said the moment he knew that Alec was serious about Amber was during high school when Alec chose Amber to be his partner during a class project over his best friend. I think that’s how you know it’s real ;)

Thank you for having me, thank you for showing everyone such a good night, and thank you for being your wonderful selves all day and making me feel so at home. I was able to spend an entire day with these two while they were in the bridal party during Alec’s sisters wedding last winter, with Kellyn & Josh. I was welcomed with hugs from their sweet family, and I left feeling like I was a part of the family. Wishing you two the best, and hoping to see you both again some day when the next family member ties the knot!
